Free Book (Kindle) - Waiting For Spring

The AmazonEncore edition of R.J. Keller's Waiting For Spring is free in the Kindle store.
Book Description
The pain in Tess Dyer’s heart stems from a lifetime of rejection: by her distant mother, by a string of one-night stands, and by her husband, Jason. He promised to love her forever, yet here she is, divorced and shunned in her own town. She tries everything to dull the pain: sex, work, and endlessly cleaning the house. Finally, in a fit of despair, she abandons the small town of Brookfield, Maine, for an even smaller town, determined to start over with a clean slate. But she can’t run from the demons in her head, and she soon falls back on her old habits, this time with the help of her sexy new neighbor Brian. Though she tells herself he is just a warm body to dull the pain, his kindness has a soothing effect on her bruised heart. But the fear of losing his love is always there, and before long, Tess’s past threatens to destroy her fragile new happiness. Ultimately, she must make a choice: continue drifting through life, or confront the cruel realities of her past and start living. A dramatic departure from contemporary chick-lit, Waiting for Spring is a moving novel about a real woman struggling to find her place in the world.

Free Book Update (Kindle/nook/iBooks/PDF/EPUB) - Napoleon's Pyramids

it took an entire week, but Napoleon's Pyramids, by William Dietrich, is finally free on Kindle.

With Lord Nelson's fleet following close behind, Gage sets out on the adventure of a lifetime. And in a land of ancient wonder and mystery, with the help of a beautiful Macedonian slave, he will come to realize that the unusual prize he won at the gaming table may be the key to solving one of history's greatest and most perilous riddles: who built the Great Pyramids . . . and why?

Free Book (noDRM) - Bounty of Love

Bounty of Love ($5.38 Kindle), by Scotty Cade, is free from the publisher, Dreamspinner Press (today only). ARe only puts this one at a 3 on the heat index, but it is M/M LGBT themed and I expect there are some sex scenes, for those who don't care for this sort of thing (for those that do, there should be some decent story line included). The publishers's sales over the weekend should include 30% off Mystery titles tomorrow and 30% off holiday ebooks and a sale on their "Advent Calendar" short story collections on Sunday.
Book Description
The night before his wedding, Zander Walsh, his parents, and his husband-to-be are all shot when they return home and interrupt a mysterious robbery in progress. After three weeks in a coma, Zander wakes up to find out he is the only survivor, and his perfect life falls apart in an instant.

Hunky FBI Agent Jake Elliot is investigating the case, and he eventually apprehends the killer—who soon escapes. Following six months of searching, Zander and Jake realize they’re being stonewalled by the FBI... and that they have slowly formed an unbreakable bond that is beginning to turn into much more.

Once they embark on a journey to apprehend the killer for the second time, they’ll discover that one terrible night was much more than just an interrupted robbery. Can big business and politics cover up the truth, or will Zander and Jake’s quest to unravel the mystery be the end of their newfound love and their lives?

Free Book (Kindle) - The Duke In His Castle

The Duke In His Castle, by Vera Nazarian, is free in the Kindle store, today only. This is a novella was a finalist for the 2008 Nebula Award and you may want to watch the author to see if she makes another backlist title free tomorrow. I see a short novel, The Clock King and the Queen of the Hourglass, for $2.99 and several others in the Kindle store; although I think she is making a mistake setting her normal price at $7.99-$9.99, at least you can get one title, Lords of Rainbow, in the Lending Library.
Book Description
THE DUKE IN HIS CASTLE by Nebula Award-nominated author and award-winning artist Vera Nazarian is a dark, lush, erotic fantasy novella in the vein of Mervyn Peake's Gormenghast, with interior illustrations by the author.

Rossian, the young Duke of Violet, wastes away in mad solitude, unable to leave the confines of his decadent castle grounds because of a mysterious invisible barrier...until a strange female intruder arrives at the castle bearing a box of bones.

Free Book (Kindle) - Radiance

Radiance, by Louis B. Jones, is free in the Kindle store, courtesy of publisher Counterpoint.
Book Description
Mark Perdue has so many problems that when he starts feeling chest pains on the tarmac at LAX, it dawns on him that a heart attack might be an efficient way out. Once an eminent physicist, he hasn’t published or had a new idea in a decade. The younger professors at UC Berkeley pity him, and he’s taken to using the back staircases to avoid their looks, which all seem to be labeling him dead weight. At home, his wife has been inconsolable since the recent late-term abortion of their afflicted fetus. And he can’t deny it any longer—he is decidedly losing his mental faculties to chronic Lyme disease.

Now Mark is visiting Los Angeles with his ambitious daughter, Carlotta, so she can attend a “Celebrity Fantasy Vacation,” in which she is promised three days and two nights of the rock star lifestyle (musical talent not required, promises the brochure). On stage, Carlotta sings her way to a new self-confidence, giving Mark a glimmer of joy in her sense of victory. But then she disappears with her newly acquired paraplegic boyfriend to take an excursion to the Hollywood sign and gets them all arrested, Mark included. Mark now faces a night in jail—and maybe a hint of what he really needs to be happy.
