29 Free Books for Australians (Kindle)

Most of these are still the Twelve Days of Winter series pre-orders, that are still free for Australians (only) in the Kindle store, but there are a few new titles now free from Harper imprints, both currently available and as pre-orders. You can see the entire list from this search. Again, I doubt any of these will end up free in the US, but anything is possible.

These are the new additions to the list:
  1. Warriors: Omen of the Stars Collection with Bonus Material: Warriors: Omen of the Stars #1: The Fourth Apprentice; Warriors: Omen of the Stars #2: Fading ... Omen of the Stars #3: Night Whispers by Erin Hunter
  2. Reckless Night: A Dangerous Passion Novella by Lisa Marie Rice
  3. Any Given Christmas: A Sugar Shack Novel by Candis Terry
  4. The Christmas Cookie Chronicles: Carrie: A Twilight, Texas Story by Lori Wilde
  5. A Respectable Trade by Philippa Gregory
  6. Letter from Chicago by Cathy Kelly
  7. A Lion Among Men: Volume Three in The Wicked Years by Gregory Maguire
If you live in Australia, I'd at least snap up the first and last on the list, before someone at Harper figures out what they have done. If you are into romance, especially holiday romance, then grab the others, as well.

Two new freebies at B&N Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Betrayal ($2.99), the fifth in the Bourne series, as continued by Eric Van Lustbader, is the Kindle Deal of the Day. This is the second in that series that he had written and it's now up to ten titles, all total.
Book Description
Already devastated by loss, Bourne is shattered by a report that his last friend in the world, Martin Lindros has gone missing. A CI deputy director, Lindros was in Ethiopia tracking suspicious shipments of yellowcake uranium and atomic bomb weaponry. His last lifeline to humanity, Bourne will not let Lindros go. Despite his hatred for CI, Bourne sets out to rescue his friend and finish the job: dismantling a terrorist network determined to build nuclear armaments by cutting off their source of money. But Bourne doesn't realize that these men, Islamic supremacists, are leaders of an incredibly dangerous, technologically savvy group with ties from Africa, across the Middle East, and into Eastern Europe and Russia. They have predicted Bourne's every move, and are counting on his unwitting help in their plans to destroy America.
SEALed with a Promise ($4.61 $1.75 Kindle, B&N), the second in the SEALed series by Mary Margret Daughtridge, is the Nook Daily Find. If you've been reading ebooks for long, you should have the first one in the series, SEALed with a Kiss, as it was offered free last year and again this past May on all the major platforms. Amazon has matched the price, so you can get this one on either platform.

Free Book (nook) - The Big 5-OH!

The Big 5-OH!, by Sandra D. Bricker, was free earlier this month, went back up in price and is now free again at Barnes & Noble, courtesy of Christian publisher Abingdon Press. I don't know if the other stores will follow suit, but if those with a nook missed it, now is the time to act.
Book Description
Olivia Wallace has a birthday curse . . . or so she thinks. It was a broken heart on her 16th, a car accident on her 21st, pneumonia on her 30th, and a fall down a flight of stairs on her 35th. There were Ohio blizzards on her 38th, 39th, and 40th; and six days before her 45th, she lost the love of her life to a heart attack. Numbing grief stole that birthday and a couple more to follow and, on the morning of her 48th birthday, she received the call she’d dreaded ever since losing her mom so many years ago…she was diagnosed with stage-3 ovarian cancer. The doctors didn’t hold out a lot of hope, but Liv survived and maintained her faith. Months of surgeries and chemotherapy and radiation treatments followed.

But now, as her 50th birthday creeps up the icy Ohio path toward her, her hair has grown back, her energy level is up, and she is officially cancer free. It makes her nervous. After everything she’s gone through, Liv hates the idea of driving on icy roads and returning to work as an O.R. nurse in a local Cincinnati hospital.

Her best friend Hallie knows just the thing to break Liv out of the winter doldrums, while providing a safe haven of warmth, sunshine, and a time to regroup: a holiday in the Florida sunshine!
