For my Canadian readers, here is an eclectic collection of bargain books in the Kindle store. A few have been free or low priced for US readers in the past, but now are under a dollar for Canadians (many previously had the $2 international fee tacked on). I've included a few religious non-fiction titles at the end (in case the earlier post didn't have any that were bargains in Canada) and finish with what is possibly the book that has the
worst reviews I have ever seen; you can pick up this "gem" for 50 cents (if you dare), rather than the $5 or so that all the reviewers claim to have paid.
A note for US readers: -Most of the books in this post will have considerably higher prices than Canadian readers will see (I've indicated next to each title if the sale price is valid in the US). Amazon uses the country location set on the Manage My Kindle page to determine which price you will see (and even whether or not you can purchase a book). Heartsick ($2.99), by Chelsea Cain 
Under the Jolly Roger:Being an Account of the Further Nautical Adventures of Jacky Faber ($2.85), by Louis A. Meyer, is the third in his Bloody Jack Adventures series for teens/young adults. This has been a popular series for bargains and freebies this summer: so far, I've got Bloody Jack: Being an Account of the Curious Adventures of Mary "Jacky" Faber, Ship's Boy ($6.36), the first in the series, as a free audiobook from Sync, and Rapture of the Deep: Being an Account of the Further Adventures of Jacky Faber, Soldier, Sailor, Mermaid, Spy ($9.99), the seventh in the series, free from Sony last month. The second in the series is Curse of the Blue Tattoo ($7.95), which I may have to consider (I'll wait for more bargains after the first three, as my TBR stack is already high enough). When searching for the series, some have L.A. Meyer as the author and I've also noticed that many of the titles have two editions: an earlier one in topaz format and a newer one in mobi.
