Repeat Free Books - Christian Publishers (K/N/E)

There were a number of titles that were free most of last year, then disappeared at the beginning of the year from the free lists, that have now returned to free status, along with several other repeats that are not likely to be free more than week or so. I've put the ones I think will be of short duration near the top (but, as always, there is no guarantee any will remain free). Several are also free from Barnes & Noble and/or ChristianBook; all the books in this post are from one of the major Christian publishers.

Claire James, age twenty-three, is ready to make it on her own. When she's fired from her job as a waitress and subsequently kicked out of her sister's home, she sees it as an opportunity to start over. But even before moving, a thirty-five-year-old love letter written to her mother keeps Claire stuck in the past. Michael Thompson, a middle-aged real estate agent, wants to keep the past where it belongs--at least until his grown daughter is married. But, then a young woman comes to town . . .

The Big 5-OH! (US/UK; B&N; ChristianBook), by Sandra D. Bricker
Book Description
Olivia Wallace has a birthday curse . . . or so she thinks. It was a broken heart on her 16th, a car accident on her 21st, pneumonia on her 30th, and a fall down a flight of stairs on her 35th. There were Ohio blizzards on her 38th, 39th, and 40th; and six days before her 45th, she lost the love of her life to a heart attack. Numbing grief stole that birthday and a couple more to follow and, on the morning of her 48th birthday, she received the call she’d dreaded ever since losing her mom so many years ago…she was diagnosed with stage-3 ovarian cancer. The doctors didn’t hold out a lot of hope, but Liv survived and maintained her faith. Months of surgeries and chemotherapy and radiation treatments followed.

But now, as her 50th birthday creeps up the icy Ohio path toward her, her hair has grown back, her energy level is up, and she is officially cancer free. It makes her nervous. After everything she’s gone through, Liv hates the idea of driving on icy roads and returning to work as an O.R. nurse in a local Cincinnati hospital.

Her best friend Hallie knows just the thing to break Liv out of the winter doldrums, while providing a safe haven of warmth, sunshine, and a time to regroup: a holiday in the Florida sunshine!

Light Of Eidon (US/UK; B&N), the first of the Legends Of The Guardian-King series by Karen Hancock, is a new ASIN/edition from both Amazon and B&N (at least, from the editions I first got free from both stores). Since it is lendable, be sure to get this edition in order to use that privilege later, if desired.

When a misunderstanding leads her to the DJ (and man) of her dreams, things start falling into place. But with a family like hers, nothing is guaranteed. And will Bella ever get to plan her own wedding?

Fools Rush In is fun, fresh, and full of surprises. Readers will love the flavorful combination of Italian and Tex-Mex, and the hilarity that ensues when cultures clash.
