Today's Deals

Today is the last day for this month's batch of 100 $3.99 or less Kindle Books (although the Kindle Big Deal will continue thru the weekend). If you haven't borrowed your free book from the Kindle Lending Library this month, today is the last day to do so (limited to those with paid Amazon Prime and an actual Kindle device). I strongly suspect that the 100 Holiday Albums for $5 will change tomorrow (but we should start getting a free holiday song each day for the first 25 days of December, if Amazon follows previous year's example).
Today is the last day to take advantage of these KSO deals:

JFK ($0.99), by Colonel L. Fletcher Prouty (with intro by Oliver Stone), is today's Kindle Deal of the Day.
Book Description
Colonel L. Fletcher Prouty, the former CIA operative known as 'X,' offers a history-shaking perspective on the assassination of president John F. Kennedy. His theories were the basis for Oliver Stone's controversial movie JFK. Prouty believed that Kennedy's death was a coup d'etat, and he backs this belief up with his knowledge of the security arrangements at Dallas and other tidbits that only a CIA insider would know (for example, that every member of Kennedy's cabinet was abroad at the time of Kennedy's assassination). His discussion of the elite power base he believes controlled the U.S. government will scare and enlighten anyone who wants to know who was really behind the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

Wrong Man Running ($1.53 / £0.99 UK), by Alan Hruska, is the Kindle Deal of the day for those in the UK (the US Edition is $7.99, but it is in the Kindle Lending Library).
Book Description
At the beginning of this compelling novel, Rick Cornith—driven careerist, brilliant prosecutor, and the heir apparent to the district attorney’s job in Manhattan—is assigned a case involving a series of increasingly sadistic rapes. When the victims, all prominent women at the acme of their careers, begin identifying Cornith as their assailant, he takes flight.

No one who knows him well believes him capable of committing such shocking crimes, including his ex-wife. His children, made to suffer at school, are hurt and confused. And yet the evidence against him keeps mounting. When his ex-wife is herself sexually attacked, she in turn pegs Cornith as the culprit.

Attorney-turned-novelist Alan Hruska’s Wrong Man Running is the story of Cornith’s frantic search to find the man he thinks framed him and the psychological challenges of confronting the possibility that he might be liable for the heinous rapes several women have claimed he committed. Sharp and haunting, Hruska masterfully ratchets up the suspense in this deftly written novel, penning a taut legal thriller in the vein of Scott Turow and John Grisham.

The Reasons for Marriage ($1.89 Kindle, B&N), by Stephanie Laurens, is the Nook Daily Find, price matched on Kindle.
