Game Deals at Amazon

The only problem I'm having with Amazon's new Kindle Deal of the Day is that I'm spending a lot of time looking at samples, to see which ones I want to buy (I do wish, however, that they would not have so many Topaz formatted books, as they often have problems later on in the text that you can't tell from the samples). I definitely picked up yesterday and today's cookbooks (they look great on the iPad and would be fine on any PC and, someday, a color Kindle, I hope). I almost missed, though, some deals today on DS games to start off the new year. We got one new DSi in the family this year (so we can battle each other) and might have to pick up another (perhaps that Maroon DSi XL with the larger screen); right now they have a special deal with "qualifying Nintendo DSi or DSi XL Consoles" -- you receive a $20 promotional credit toward the purchase of items shipped and sold by Amazon.com (certain exclusions apply, including Kindle books, MP3s, and video rentals and downloads).

Amazon is still running their Buy One Game, Get One 50% Off and has Up to 75% Off Select Game Downloads and I just saw their Year-End Casual Game Downloads For Only $1.99 (which I need to look thru, as I see at least a Mahjongg game is on the list that might be interesting), but the ones below all work with the DSi and are designed to help us either get back in shape or find something good to eat!

Thanks for the Memories with Bonus Material ($1.99), by Cecelia Ahern (get a sample from the earlier edition, $9.99)

Book Description
Offered at a low price of $1.99 for a limited time, this charming novel by New York Times bestselling author Cecelia Ahern explores what happens when "what if" becomes a reality for two strangers whose lives are at a crossroads. This special e-book edition also includes an excerpt of Cecelia's latest novel, The Book of Tomorrow.

How can you know someone you've never met? That's the question haunting Joyce Conway these days. Recovering from a terrible accident and with her marriage in pieces, Joyce is suddenly plagued by an overwhelming sense of dÉjÀ vu that makes her feel as if the life she's living is not her own. During the day she has vivid memories of things she's never seen—such as cobblestoned Parisian streets she's never visited—and at night she dreams of a little girl she's sure she's never met. Joyce is convinced she's lost her mind . . . until a series of coincidences leads her on a journey to meet the one person who may hold the answer she needs.

Someone's life could be depending on you right now . . . . That's the pitch that finally persuades Justin Hitchcock to donate blood—the first thing to come straight from his heart in a long time.

Restless and lonely, Justin chased his ex-wife and daughter from Chicago to London, and now he's in Dublin, guest-lecturing to bored college students. When he receives a basket of muffins with a thank-you note attached, he's sure someone's playing a joke on him, but then the presents keep coming. Intrigued, Justin is determined to solve the mystery—a quest that will change his life forever.

Thanks for the Memories is a heartwarming story of hope, love, and second chances. If you love this, don't miss The Book of Tomorrow, available in bookstores and in e-book format on January 25, 2011

Two Step Temptation ($2.00), by Emma Jay

Book Description
They have a history. A future may be more than she’s willing to give.

Haven Reynolds is stunned when her ex-lover Eric Viera turns up at their mutual friends’ wedding. Her sources told her he was safely a continent away, doing his anthropology thing. Instead she’s scrambling to figure out how to fend off his particularly potent brand of charm.

At least, that’s what she tells herself.

Several months in a Costa Rican jungle hasn’t dulled Eric’s memory of the two weeks he spent with the sexy spitfire. He’d even enjoyed the challenge of breaking through her walls—the warm, passionate woman he’d uncovered had been worth the effort. He’d like nothing better than to pick up where they left off, except those walls are back in place, stronger than ever.

Much to Haven’s dismay, Eric takes her in his arms for a rehearsal-dinner dance. In a split second, it all comes back—the memories, the lust and laughter, the intimacy and control she’s never allowed any other man. Falling for him again is out of the question, but a weekend of hot sex is an indulgence she can’t resist.

Except Eric hasn’t come back to Texas just for the wedding. He’s come for her.

Warning: Contains a sassy heroine, sizzlin’ hero, toe-stomping two-stepping and secret encounters.

Following her birthday wish gone awry, the hunk is treating her to one surprise after another. From little things that make her smile to lavish, romantic dates, Joe is turning out to be the stuff of dreams

Joe’s attentions to the sexy pastry shop owner begin as lighthearted fun. Until he finds out about the past that, until now, has made her keep him at arm’s length. Determined to show her seeking pleasure is no crime, he sets out to fulfill her steamiest fantasies—with a little help from three of his best friends.

After a four-course birthday adventure, which presents Morgan as the sweetest imaginable dessert, she expects Joe to walk away. But now that Joe’s brought Morgan out of her shell, he’s hungry for something he never expected to crave—a forever kind of love.

Book Description
Taking turns was never their strong suit…

Devon Mason and Con Walker are sexy, honorable, loving, and completely devoted. In other words, everything Tory looks for in a relationship. But what’s she supposed to buy her two lovers on V Day? Chocolate? How average is that? Their little love triangle is anything but average!

When Con surprises her with a weekend in Cancun, just the three of them, Tory is all over it—until she realizes Con forgot to include Devon in the package. Now their little love triangle is suffering, thanks to a couple of hard-headed men who both want to be numero uno.

Con was content to let Devon take control at Christmas, but now it’s his turn. A weekend in Cancun seems the perfect place for a romantic getaway—then Devon says he’s planning to surprise Tory with a trip to Aruba, and Con’s possessive instincts kick in. He’d always been happy to share Tory with the guy he cares for like a brother. But the deeper Con falls in love, the harder it is to keep from ripping Tory away from Devon.

Sooner or later something—or someone—is going to give.

Warning: This title contains lots of steamy, explicit sex. Hot, jealous men in need of a strong, intelligent woman. And a warm, loving ménage a trois relationship.
