Free Book (Kindle/nook/noDRM) - Book of Days

Update: 11/29/11 Now free on Kindle.
Update: 10/25/11 Now free from ChristianBook.

Book of Days ($9.99 Kindle), by James L. Rubart, is free from Barnes & Noble, courtesy of Christian publisher B&H.
Book Description
"… in Your book all my days were recorded, even those which were purposed before they had come into being." —Psalm 139:16

Young Cameron Vaux’s mind is slipping. Memories of his wife, killed two years earlier in a car accident, are vanishing just as his dad predicted they would. Memories he knows he has to remember.

His father tells Cameron that to save his mind he must find "the book with all days in it" —the past and future record of every soul on earth.

When an obscure clue leads Cameron to a small central Oregon town, he meets enigmatic Taylor Stone, a possible guide to finding the book who seems to carry secrets far deeper than anyone imagines. Local hotshot TV personality Ann Bannister thinks the legend of the book is a farce, but she has her reasons to join Cameron’s search anyway. Finally, there is fanatical New Age guru Jason Judah, who will stop at nothing to find the book of days before Cameron does.

$2 Free Credit in Amazon MP3 Store

Get a free $2 MP3 credit in the Amazon MP3 store using the coupon code STUDYBRK. You can enter the code on any MP3 product page, or use this handy page. Note that you can get one credit per account/customers and must use this credit by November 28 (the credits you can get from delayed shipping shouldn't expire until the end of January; Amazon automatically uses credits with closest expiration date first, so you don't have to worry about managing them, though).

When you get a few credits stored up, be sure to check out the 100 Holiday Albums for $5 each sale or the Black Friday Deals Week sale - it looks like I already have enough to get the one album (I'm considering the Mannheim Steamroller Christmas 25th Anniversary Collection).

For those searching for free music, be sure to check out each day's selection (on the web page), which includes singles and albums such as Lights, Vol 2. A Hanukkah Sampler.

Free Reads and a Free Game (PC)

All Romance has made volumes 4-6 of their "Just One Bite" series available as free downloads today, joining volumes 1-3. Each of these is an anthology, with varying levels of steaminess and content, so be sure to check the synopsis on each if you are particular about which type you read. All are DRM-free and can be downloaded in multiple formats, including Mobi (for Kindle) and EPUB (for the nook).

PopCap Games also has a give-away for today: a free copy of Zuma for either Windows or the Mac (one or the other, in a single order; I suspect you can get both by "buying" one at a time). They sent out a message to all their newsletter subscribers, but the links and coupon codes work whether you are a subscriber or not (you do have to give them your name and email during checkout, so you may start getting the newsletter). In fact, if you go to their home page, you'll see the offer there, too!.
Game Description
Deep in the jungle lie hidden temples bursting with traps and trickery, and it's up to you to uncover their treasures. Fire magical balls from your stone frog idol to make matches of three or more and clear the deadly chain before it reaches the golden skull.

Explore all the temples — if you're good, you’ll rack up huge combos and special bonuses that'll help you on your way. But think fast and aim smart, or you'll be history in this action-packed puzzle challenge!

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you, hope you are having a good holiday. Once again, I'm including a few poems for the season today. If you get out in the Black Friday craziness tonight or tomorrow, stay safe.
Thanksgiving
by Edgar Guest

Gettin' together to smile an' rejoice,
An' eatin' an' laughin' with folks of your choice;
An' kissin' the girls an' declarin' that they
Are growin' more beautiful day after day;
Chattin' an' braggin' a bit with the men,
Buildin' the old family circle again;
Livin' the wholesome an' old-fashioned cheer,
Just for awhile at the end of the year.

Greetings fly fast as we crowd through the door
And under the old roof we gather once more
Just as we did when the youngsters were small;
Mother's a little bit grayer, that's all.
Father's a little bit older, but still
Ready to romp an' to laugh with a will.
Here we are back at the table again
Tellin' our stories as women an' men.

Bowed are our heads for a moment in prayer;
Oh, but we're grateful an' glad to be there.
Home from the east land an' home from the west,
Home with the folks that are dearest an' best.
Out of the sham of the cities afar
We've come for a time to be just what we are.
Here we can talk of ourselves an' be frank,
Forgettin' position an' station an' rank.

Give me the end of the year an' its fun
When most of the plannin' an' toilin' is done;
Bring all the wanderers home to the nest,
Let me sit down with the ones I love best,
Hear the old voices still ringin' with song,
See the old faces unblemished by wrong,
See the old table with all of its chairs
An' I'll put soul in my Thanksgivin' prayers.

One day is there of the series
by Emily Dickinson

One day is there of the series
Termed "Thanksgiving Day"
Celebrated part at table
Part in memory -
Neither Ancestor nor Urchin
I review the Play -
Seems it to my Hooded thinking
Reflex Holiday
Had There been no sharp subtraction
From the early Sum -
Not an acre or a Caption
Where was once a Room
Not a mention whose small Pebble
Wrinkled any Sea,
Unto such, were such Assembly,
'Twere "Thanksgiving day" -
